TRC Rugby Training Sessions – Week 2

Another great week, as the boys showed great work ethic and persistence in developing themselves as consistent trainers. Monday saw our first field session for the season, with some speed, agility and bag work. As we move through the sessions in January we will be focusing on more position specific exercises for each individual and continuing on with speed and power development.

All participants have now completed their Functional Movement Screening and have been completing their individualized program throughout the sessions. All participants are encouraged to complete their program over the Christmas New Year break, as they will be retested in the first week back in January. This is extremely important in the long-term development of each and every athlete.

On Friday we had the privilege of getting the services of ex-Crusaders nutritionist Greg Haglund. He was excellent in explaining the importance of nutrition and its relation to sports. He was excited to present to the boys. With the assistance of Mass Nutrition Sunshine Coast the boys also received some freebies and information sheet. If any players or parents need any additional information please see either Jacob Stains or myself.
